தருணம் நழுவுதடி கண்ணே
தருணம் நழுவுதடி!

மான் போல் துடிக்கும் என் கரங்கள்
நின் கார்மேனி தழுவ கதறுதடி.

வெகு நாள் காதல் ஒருநாள் கூடும்
உன் அழகைக் கண்டு அகிலமும் உருகும்.

என் கனாவில் மட்டும் காட்சி அளிக்கிறாய்
கதிரவன் தோன்றின மறுநொடி விட்டுச் செல்கிறாய்.

உன் தோலின் சுகந்தம் முகர்ந்தேன்
என் தோளின் சுமையை மறந்தேன்.

மெய்யாகவே என் மெய்யைத் தொடுவாயா?
ஜன்ம பாவங்கள் தீர்த்து மோட்சம் அளிப்பாயா?

தேடியும் காணாதிருப்பாயோ?
கதறியும் மௌனமாயிருப்பாயோ?

கல் மலையாம் உன் நெஞ்சம் பிளவுண்டு
கங்கை ஆற்றைப் போல் நீ எனக்குள் புகுந்திடு.

ஈருடல் கலந்து ஓருடல் ஆகவே
படர்கொடி திராட்சை ரசத்தில் நனைந்திடவே

தருணம் நழுவுதடி கண்ணே
தருணம் நழுவுதடி!

என் இச்சையைத் தீர்க்க
வந்தருள்வாயே தேவி!

Translated version:

My time is slipping away, my beloved,
My Time is slipping away.

Like a deer, trembling, my hands quiver,
Crying out to embrace your dark skinned body.

A love of many days will meet in one day, surely.
Beholding your beauty, the universe melts without hope.

You grant me your theophany only within my dreams,
The moment the sun appears, you depart suddenly.

I breathed in the fragrance of your skin,
And forgot the cross that crushes my own.

Will you truly touch my body with your hand?
Will you grant redemption, cleansing the sins of my birth?

Will you remain unseen though I seek you?
Will you stay silent though I cry out to you?

Let the stone-mountain of your heart split open,
And like the river Ganga, flood into me, I pray.

Let our two bodies become one
Let us be drenched in the juice of spreading grapevines.

Thank you so much for making it to the end of the poem! I have also attached the English translation for this poem of mine, especially for those who are unfamiliar with the Tamil language.

I must tell you reader, however, that the English DOES NOT do justice to the tamil in which I’ve written.

I do hope that one day, you will learn the Tamil language and read this little poem :) Tamil is so rich in beauty and poetry.

Also, this is my first attempt at Tamil poetry after a long LONG time, so be gracious with me and forgive me for any mistakes I may have committed here.
